Join us on Saturday 22 August 2026 as we celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine with a vibrant community event filled with art, culture and collective creativity. Inspired by our projects Vyshyvanka Runway: The Code of Identity and Standing with Heroes, this year’s theme — ReBirth — places people at the heart of the celebration.
This is not just an event to watch. It is an event to create together.
🌳 Tree of Life
Help paint a monumental Tree of Life — a symbol of roots, family and renewal. Visitors will add brushstrokes throughout the day, while children create the grass beneath with colourful handprints. By the end, hundreds of contributions will form one powerful community artwork.
🌻 Living Sunflower Field
Children from Sunflower Ukrainian School and the wider community will build a Living Sunflower Field and raise the message BRING KIDS BACK!, standing with Ukrainian children taken from their homes and reminding us that every child deserves safety and freedom.
❤️ 35 Hearts for 35 Years
A giant card shaped like Ukraine will carry 35 hearts, each representing a year of Independence. Created for His Majesty The King, the hearts will be filled with messages of gratitude, hope and dreams for Ukraine’s future.
Ukrainian Culture & Identity
Discover a handmade interpretation of Kyiv’s Independence Monument and explore Vyshyvanka: The Code of Identity, created by more than 100 women and children in Milton Keynes. These installations offer striking photo opportunities and a deep connection to Ukrainian heritage.
🕊️ Remember • Honour • Hope
A reflective installation will honour those who sacrificed for freedom and those still in captivity. Guests may leave messages for peace inside a Time Capsule, to be opened on Independence Day 2027.
🤝 Community Atmosphere
Enjoy Ukrainian food, music, crafts and a welcoming mix‑and‑mingle environment. Every guest will receive a mini festival map to explore creative zones, food areas and performances.

Wear your Vyshyvanka and join our joyful Red Carpet Runway photoshoot in front of the completed Tree of Life — a shared moment celebrating unity, culture and everything we created together.
