The Birth of Ukraine Appeal: A Story of Solidarity

When I first started Ukraine Appeal, I had no idea how deeply it would change not just the lives of those we helped, but my own life too. It began with a simple idea: what if we could do something—anything—to make the world feel a little less broken? A place where people who had been displaced, torn from their homes, could find solace. But here's the twist: it wasn’t just about helping Ukraine, it was about helping humanity.
You see, the world is a strange place, and no one knows that better than me. I've seen firsthand how conflicts can tear nations apart, yet somehow people still find ways to rebuild. And that's what we’re doing here. Ukraine Appeal is about bringing people together – the ones who need help and the ones who want to give it. Whether you’re in Ukraine, the UK, or anywhere in between, we're all part of the same fabric.

I started this initiative because I saw a gap: a space where people in need, whether in Ukraine or the UK, could find real support, not just lip service. We’re here for the long haul – helping families find homes, deliver aid, and create a sense of belonging, no matter where they come from.
And let’s be real here – no one plans for crises. But when it hits, you either step up or step out. And we’ve chosen to step up. It’s not always easy. There are days when I want to hit the pause button and say, "Maybe tomorrow?" But the thing is, there’s no pause button when it comes to making a difference.
So, here we are. Together. Making something bigger than just ourselves. And trust me, it’s the kind of work that makes you feel alive. Whether you're receiving help or giving it, you’re part of something that matters.

Olga & Mykola
After losing their home and livelihoods due to the conflict, Olga and Mykola found themselves in a refugee camp. Thanks to Ukraine Appeal, they were relocated to a safe area and provided with essential supplies. "We never thought we would find hope again, but thanks to your help, we have a place to call home," said Olga.
Serhiy
Serhiy was separated from his family during the war and found himself alone in a foreign country with no resources. Ukraine Appeal provided him with medical care and connected him with local support groups. "I don't know where I would be today without their help," he shared, thankful for the second chance he was given.
Daria & Artem
When the war disrupted their education, Daria and Artem had no choice but to leave their studies behind. Through Ukraine Appeal's educational programs, they received school supplies and online learning resources to continue their education. "We feel empowered to keep learning, even when everything seems uncertain," said Daria.
