Ukrainian Community in Milton Keynes Thanks City Council for Raising the Ukrainian Flag
The Ukrainian community in Milton Keynes extends its sincere gratitude to Milton Keynes City Council for raising the Ukrainian flag alongside the Union Jack — a powerful gesture of solidarity, friendship, and shared values.
For our community, this act is far more than a symbolic motion. It is a statement — a clear expression of support for Ukraine, for freedom, and for the democratic principles that unite our nations.
Flying proudly next to the Union Jack, the Ukrainian flag reflects the deep connection between the UK and Ukraine, and the commitment to stand together in the face of ongoing challenges. As the geographical centre of Europe lies in Ukraine, today Ukrainian defenders are protecting not only their homeland but also the wider European continent, of which the United Kingdom is an integral part.
If Ukraine were to fall, the consequences would not remain within its borders. Instability, insecurity and suffering would spread across Europe. This is why continued support for Ukraine is so vital — it is an investment in our shared future and in the values that bind our communities.
On behalf of the Ukrainian community in Milton Keynes, we express our heartfelt appreciation for this meaningful act of solidarity. Your leadership reminds us that we are not alone.
This message of thanks is shared on behalf of the local grassroots charity Ukraine Appeal CIO, the community group Ukrainians in Milton Keynes, and through the personal initiative of Viktoriya Shtanko, Chief Executive Officer of Ukraine Appeal & Sunflower Ukrainian Supplementary School.
Together, we continue to work for peace, unity, and a brighter future for all Ukrainian families who now call Milton Keynes their home.
