Ukraine Appeal Awarded the Youth Safe Practice Mark 2026

Ukraine Appeal is proud to announce that our organisation has been officially awarded the Youth Safe Practice Mark for 2026. This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to creating safe, supportive and well‑governed environments for children and young people across all our programmes, including Sunflower Ukrainian Supplementary School, youth wellbeing activities, cultural workshops and community projects.

Ukraine Appeal Awarded the Youth Safe Practice Mark 2026

The Youth Safe Practice Mark is awarded annually to organisations that demonstrate strong safeguarding practice, robust policies, and a clear commitment to the safety and wellbeing of young people. Receiving this mark confirms that Ukraine Appeal meets national standards for youth safety and continues to uphold best practice in safeguarding, staff training, governance and risk management.

Ukraine Appeal is an approved supplier for Milton Keynes City Council, delivering the EHCP+ programme, HAF programmes, and a wide range of arts and cultural workshops for children and young people in Milton Keynes. We also run the Sunflower Ukrainian Supplementary School, providing education, cultural connection and emotional support for Ukrainian children rebuilding their lives after displacement. The Safe Practice Mark strengthens and validates the safeguarding foundations behind all these activities.

The awarding body has confirmed that Ukraine Appeal will be listed publicly among organisations holding the Safe Practice Mark, and we have received digital logos that can now be used on our website and promotional materials.

“For us, safeguarding is not just a requirement — it is a responsibility we carry with deep care. Ukrainian children have lived through trauma, loss and displacement. When they come to our school or our programmes, they must feel safe, protected and understood. The Youth Safe Practice Mark confirms that our organisation meets the highest standards of safety and governance, and it gives parents confidence that their children are in trusted hands. This recognition strengthens our mission and ensures we continue providing secure, nurturing spaces where young people can learn, heal and thrive.” — stated our CEO and Head of Sunflower School, Viktoriya Shtanko.

We are grateful for this acknowledgement and proud to stand among organisations championing safe practice for young people. Thank you to our dedicated team members, volunteers, parents and everyone who contributes to making Ukraine Appeal a trusted and secure place for children and families rebuilding their lives after displacement.
