Ukraine Appeal Charity Delivers Christmas Hope to Children’s Hospitals in Kyiv
This Christmas season, the Ukraine Appeal charity, together with the Sunflower Ukrainian Supplementary School and the wider Ukrainian community in Milton Keynes, helped deliver a message that every child deserves to hear: you are not alone.
Our partners in Ukraine — the All‑Ukrainian Association Patriot — visited three children’s hospitals in Kyiv, bringing 110 carefully prepared Christmas gifts to young patients facing both illness and the ongoing reality of war.
A Journey of Kindness From Milton Keynes to Kyiv
These gifts began their journey in Milton Keynes, where families, volunteers and children from the Sunflower School lovingly packed each parcel with warmth and care. What started as a community effort in the UK became a moment of joy for children spending their holidays in hospital wards far from home comforts.
Our partners in Ukraine delivered the gifts to:
Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital – Paediatric Endocrinology Department
Kyiv Regional Oncology Dispensary – Paediatric Onco‑Haematology Department
Kyiv City Clinical Oncology Centre – Children’s Department
With support from the Paediatricians Against Cancer Foundation, volunteers met children like Sofiia and Denys, who had been eagerly waiting for LEGO sets. For many young patients, building bricks offer a rare escape from long corridors and heavy thoughts. Denys shared his dream of one day owning a LEGO Technic set — a reminder of how simple hopes can carry enormous meaning.
At Ukraine Appeal CIO, we remain committed to supporting children and families affected by the war — in Ukraine and here in the UK. This project is a testament to what our community can achieve when compassion leads the way.
Kindness is our superpower — and together, we continue to make a difference.
