Ukraine Appeal CIO is recruiting a Community Engagement & Communications Manager (with Fundraising Responsibility) to strengthen our communications, support community outreach, and lead our fundraising development.
This full-time hybrid role combines digital content management, donor engagement, grant writing and frontline communication with beneficiaries, volunteers and partners. The successful candidate will help increase our visibility, grow our fundraising portfolio and support programme delivery alongside the Senior Executive Lead.

ROLE 2 — Community Engagement & Communications Manager (with Fundraising Responsibility)
Full-time | Operational & Development Role
Organisation: Ukraine Appeal CIO
Location: Hybrid, with regular travel to Milton Keynes and other event locations
Reports to: Senior Executive Lead – Programmes, Community & Compliance
Hours: 37 hours, across 7 days a week
Salary: Competitive salary
Contract: Permanent / Fixed Term (subject to funding)
Essential requirement: Fluent Ukrainian and English (minimum B2 level) are required for this role.
About the Role
Ukraine Appeal CIO is recruiting a dynamic Community Engagement & Communications Manager to lead our communications, digital content, donor engagement and fundraising strategy. This role strengthens our public visibility, supports beneficiaries and volunteers, and drives income generation through grants, partnerships and campaigns.
You will work closely with the Senior Executive Lead to deliver community outreach and ensure beneficiaries receive timely, accessible information. This is a varied and impactful role for a creative communicator with strong organisational and fundraising skills.
Key Responsibilities
A. Communications & Digital Content Management
Manage website content, updates, basic SEO and digital accessibility.
Produce clear, mission-aligned content for social media, newsletters, press releases and campaigns.
Respond to enquiries from beneficiaries, donors and volunteers across email, chat and social media.
Create multimedia content (stories, visuals, impact updates) that strengthens brand identity.
Manage mailing campaigns, digital engagement tools and analytics.
B. Fundraising & Development
Develop and implement the organisation’s fundraising strategy.
Research, write and submit grant applications and donor proposals.
Identify opportunities for corporate partnerships, sponsorships and community fundraising.
Manage donor stewardship, reporting and relationship building.
Maintain fundraising pipelines, CRM systems and donor records.
C. Community Engagement (Operational)
Support the Senior Executive Lead in delivering outreach and community support initiatives.
Communicate support opportunities, events and services to beneficiaries.
Provide frontline digital communication to community members seeking information or assistance.
Coordinate with the Programme Support & Volunteer Coordinator to ensure smooth delivery of activities.
Role Boundaries
Leads communications, digital content and fundraising.
Supports (but does not lead) community strategy — this sits with the Senior Executive Lead.
Works closely with the Programme Support & Volunteer Coordinator on volunteer deployment and event administration.
